We remember who was there, what was said, and how we felt. But the name of the wine usually gets lost along the way.<br\/>And honestly, I think that's fine.<br\/>I admire people who can distinguish varieties, identify aromas, or describe nuances that completely escape me. I get quite lost in the technical notes. I couldn't tell you if a wine has hints of red berries, spices, or toasted wood. But I do know how to recognize when a wine accompanies a special moment.<br\/>For me, wine has never been the star of the table. The star has always been what happens around it.<br\/>I enjoy it because it invites us to pause, to converse, and to share. Because a glass poured among several people has something of a simple ritual that reminds us that we don't need a grand celebration to toast. Sometimes an ordinary meal, on an ordinary day, with the right people is enough.<br\/>That's why, when I look back, I don't remember labels or vintages. I remember hugs, laughter, anecdotes, and endless lingering at the table. I remember how I felt.<br\/>Perhaps that's the greatness of wine. That even when we sometimes forget its name, it remains part of the memories that do stay with us forever.<br\/>Perhaps there are those who remember perfectly every wine they've tasted. I admire that ability. But if you ask me about the best wines of my life, I'll probably answer by talking about moments rather than brands.<br\/>And I think that also says a lot about a good wine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t remember the label or the vintage.
