Your Experience

For those who seek the origin behind the wine

Tor is made for those who enjoy discovering wines that could not be born just anywhere. For those who value the identity of a single plot, the depth of old vines, and that feeling of finding something authentic behind every glass.

Born in Els Sègols, from Xarel·lo vines over 50 years old, deeply tied to marine marl soils that bring character, texture, and a singular expression. Here, freshness is not limited to acidity: it also shows in the tension, the saline feel, and the precision with which the wine moves across the palate.

A Xarel·lo for curious palates, for those seeking white wines with origin, structure, and a personality that reveals itself little by little.

The Wine

Tor is born in Els Sègols, a plot in Sant Cugat de Sesgarrigues where old Xarel·lo vines, over 50 years old, sink their roots into marine marl soils.

The age of the vineyard brings balance, depth, and a fuller expression of the variety. The marine marls define its tension, its texture, and a saline sensation that accompanies the entire journey.

The 2025 vintage was crafted to preserve this identity. Four months of ageing on lees adds breadth and cohesion, while Xarel·lo’s natural freshness supports the wine and keeps its precision.

The result is a white of origin, serene and structured. A wine where fruit, texture, and salinity coexist without overpowering one another, leaving a long, clean finish deeply tied to Els Sègols.

TASTING NOTE

Appearance

Pale yellow with golden and greenish highlights, clean and bright, with a slight density that hints at its texture on the palate.

Nose

Deep, precise expression, with white fruit, fresh apple, pear, citrus peel, and delicate notes of Mediterranean herbs.

As it opens, hints of dried flowers, fennel, tender almond, and a mineral backdrop evoking wet stone and calcareous earth emerge.

Lees work adds complexity and a creamy feel, without masking the genuine fruit character or the saline identity of the marine marls.

Palate

Fresh, precise entry, with well-integrated acidity that supports the entire journey.

The texture is broad, enveloping, and serene, shaped by lees ageing and the natural depth of Els Sègols’ old vines.

The wine combines volume and tension, with a saline sensation that appears from mid-palate and carries through to the finish.

Persistent, balanced, and slightly bitter, it leaves a clean, deep, genuine impression, closely tied to the plot’s marine marls.

VISION

Person

A perspective that understands wine as a way to preserve what time has made unrepeatable.

The aim is not to transform Xarel·lo’s character, but to listen to a plot of old vines and let it speak clearly. Els Sègols brings depth, balance, and a genuine expression of marine marls, built over more than 50 years of relationship between vine and place.

The wine is born from respect, precision, and restraint. Without excess, without artifice, and without the need to amplify what already has its own identity.

A wine that endures for its authenticity, its texture, and the serene way it expresses the landscape it comes from.

TERROIR

Place

Els Sègols is a singular plot in Sant Cugat de Sesgarrigues, marked by old Xarel·lo vines over 50 years old and by marine marl soils that profoundly define the wine’s character.

Over time, the roots have been able to explore the ground in depth, naturally regulating the plant’s vigour and promoting balanced ripening. The result is a more concentrated, precise, and complete expression of the variety.

Here, Xarel·lo finds tension, texture, and a discreet depth. The soil leaves a genuine saline imprint, while the age of the vineyard brings balance, complexity, and a sense of authenticity that is hard to replicate.

A place where time, the vine, and marine marls form a single identity.

Climate

Mediterranean, bright, and breezy, with progressive ripening that preserves freshness, definition, and balance.

The climate’s influence favours a clean fruit expression, while cooler nights and natural ventilation help maintain tension and prevent over-ripening.

In Els Sègols’ old vines, the climate is interpreted with greater serenity: the plant regulates its yield, ripens slowly, and concentrates the character of the place without losing precision.

Soil

Calcareous marine marls, formed from ancient sediments that give the land a singular geological identity.

This soil regulates the plant’s vigour and promotes slow, balanced ripening. In old vines over 50 years old, the roots deepen into these layers and find a more stable relationship with water and nutrients.

Its influence is expressed in the wine through tension, texture, depth, and a saline persistence that defines Els Sègols’ genuine character.

Topography

A plot of natural balance, with a layout that favours ventilation, even exposure, and slow ripening of Xarel·lo.

The age of the vineyard and its adaptation to the land allow a serene relationship between plant and landscape. Old vines grow with less vigour, produce in a restrained way, and concentrate the plot’s expression.

The topography does not seek spectacle. Its value lies in regularity, balance, and the ability to sustain a precise identity over time.

Variety

Xarel·lo from old vines over 50 years old, interpreted through depth, texture, and the identity of the place.

In Els Sègols, the variety moves away from an expression that is only fresh or fruity. It gains structure, dimension, and a pronounced saline sensation shaped by the marine marls.

A more complete, serene, persistent Xarel·lo, where the age of the vineyard brings balance and the soil defines its character.

Natural environment

Mediterranean light, dry vegetation, moving air, and a landscape ordered by time.

Els Sègols preserves the memory of an old vineyard, deeply bound to the land and the marine marls that sustain it. The old vines are naturally part of the landscape, adapted to its rhythm and conditions.

The surroundings leave the wine with a sense of authenticity, calm, and depth. A restrained, precise, genuine Mediterranean expression.

CRAFT

Method

Winemaking begins with respect for an exceptional raw material: Xarel·lo from old vines over 50 years old from the Els Sègols plot.

Work in the cellar seeks to preserve the vineyard’s identity, maintain the wine’s natural tension, and develop texture without covering the character of the marine marls.

Four months of ageing on lees adds volume, cohesion, and a more enveloping mouthfeel. The work is carried out with restraint, seeking to broaden the wine without taking away freshness, precision, or expression of origin.

The result does not aim to transform Xarel·lo, but to refine it. A wine with structure, texture, and depth, where freshness, salinity, and the character of old vines always remain front and centre.

A Xarel·lo for those who understand that a wine’s singularity is born from place, time, and the way both express themselves in the glass.
